Senator Declan O’Scanlon was raised in Little Silver and graduated from Monmouth University with degrees in finance and psychology. Declan first entered the political arena when he was elected to the town council of Little Silver where he served for 14 years, he was then elected to the State Assembly in 2008. In addition to being an active Legislator, the Assemblyman is CEO of FSD Enterprises Inc., a wireless communications infrastructure consulting company. Declan is also the Board President of Love Inc., a faith based charitable non-profit organization.
Declan has worked tirelessly to bring real reform to all New Jersey. He led the fight with Governor Christie to enact the 2% property tax cap and was the prime sponsor of pension and benefits, and arbitration reform. These initiatives give local governments the tools to reign in property taxes and control spending.
Senator O’Scanlon is outspoken on other reform fronts, from red light cameras and drivers rights to organ donation and drug policy. Declan consistently fights for sound, fact-based policy.
